🌊 Berto’s Marine Tours

Local Boatman & Snorkeling Guide – Moalboal Bay

Berto grew up by the sea in Moalboal, the son of a fisherman and a small-town market vendor. From a young age, he learned to sail, fish, and read the tides with his father. When tourism started growing in Moalboal, he saw a chance to turn his love for the ocean into something better for his family.
Together with two cousins, he built his first small bangka from scrap wood and began guiding visitors to the famous sardine run and Pescador Island.

Today, Berto leads a small crew of four local boatmen. They’ve become known for their kindness, honesty, and the way they protect the reef — reminding every guest to use reef-safe sunscreen and never touch the coral.

💰 Fair Pay System
We operate on a 70 / 30 revenue-sharing model:

  • 70% of each tour fee goes to Berto’s team for crew wages, fuel, and boat upkeep.

  • 30% remains with the resort for coordination, safety gear, permits, and donations to our reef and community projects.

This partnership keeps both sides sustainable while ensuring Moalboal’s sea remains alive for generations.

🐢 “We don’t just guide — we protect what we love, so our children can still fish here one day.”

🚐 Ramil Transport Services

Local Tricycle & Van Driver – Cebu South Routes

Ramil has been driving the winding roads of South Cebu for more than 15 years. Originally from Alcantara, he started as a tricycle driver taking children to school and farmers to the market. Over time, he saved enough to buy a second-hand van, learning English from his passengers and stories from travelers he met along the way.

He’s known for being one of the most reliable drivers in the area — the kind who waits patiently when guests stop for coconuts or take photos at the mountain viewpoints. His smile is easy, his vehicle spotless, and his playlist always local.

💰 Fair Pay System
To keep things simple and transparent, Ramil keeps 85–90% of every fare.
A small 10–15% coordination fee stays with the resort to handle guest scheduling, communication, and vehicle maintenance support.
He’s part of our family now — and during quiet seasons, we guarantee him a few fixed bookings each month to help keep his income steady.

🚐 “I don’t just drive guests — I make sure they see the real Cebu.”

🌾 Lina’s Family Farm

Organic Supplier – Alcantara Hills

In the rolling hills above Alcantara, Lina and her husband Roberto have farmed the same land their grandparents once tilled.
They grow coconuts, lemongrass, bananas, and papayas using simple, natural methods — no chemicals, no machines, just family hands and rainwater. Their eldest son helps with deliveries, while the younger ones care for seedlings and tend to chickens that roam between the rows of plants.

The family’s gentle rhythm keeps our resort supplied with fresh fruit, herbs, and the pure coconut oil used in our soaps and massages.

💰 Fair Pay System
We buy directly from their family at 10–15% above local market prices to reward clean farming and reliability.
Payments are made in full upon delivery — no delays, no middlemen.
This gives their family consistent income while allowing us to keep our farm-to-table menu affordable and fair for guests.

🌿 “Our farm is small, but A&J’s steady orders keep food on many tables.”

🧹 The Dela Cruz Caretaker Couple

Resort Maintenance & Guest Assistance – On Site

Mang Jun and Aling Rosa are husband and wife — gentle, hard-working caretakers who have been together for over 30 years. They grew up in neighboring barangays, both from farming families. After their children moved to the city for school, they decided to dedicate their days to taking care of what they now call their “second home.”

Mang Jun handles the gardens, solar system, and small repairs, while Aling Rosa keeps the rooms spotless, prepares coconuts for guests, and teaches younger helpers basic hospitality skills. Guests love her for her warm laughter and the fresh coffee she offers every morning.

💰 Fair Pay System
They earn salaries 15–20% higher than the regional minimum, along with free housing, meals, and utilities.
Every high season, they receive a 5% share of monthly resort profits as a loyalty bonus — proof that they’re not just employees but part of our foundation.
We also cover their small health insurance and ensure they have rest days each week.

🌸 “We don’t work here — we live here. This is family.”
